Happy Thanksgiving from Beaufort Photography Co. There is perhaps no truer barometer of our emotional, mental, and spiritual health than a grateful attitude. I love what G.K. Chesterton wrote, “Here ends another day, during which I have had eyes, ears, hands, and the great world around me. Tomorrow begins another day. Why am I allowed two?”

It’s not too difficult to love Thanksgiving. Even those that find it hard to express gratitude throughout the year usually soften up around the end of November and begin to count their blessings.

My love affair with the fourth Thursday in November began in grade school. Making turkeys out of clothespins and candy corn, wearing pilgrim hats in the school play, and playing neighborhood football on a weekday we normally would have been in school all served to make Thanksgiving one of my favorite holidays.

As with most holidays, however, it doesn’t take too many years of turkey and fixings at grandma’s house with the relatives that only come out of the woodwork when there’s a food offering to realize you’ve slipped into a holiday rut. After a while it becomes impossible to distinguish between the last five or six Thanksgivings as they all begin to blend together like the ingredients of Aunt Edna’s turkey and squash and SPAM casserole.

The past five or so Thanksgivings I’ve made it a tradition to log some time Thanksgiving Day walking on the beach, listening to the waves, watching the gulls swoop and sing, and reflecting on the year.

Happy Thanksgiving from Beaufort Photography Co.

There’s nothing quite like standing on the edge of the sea to lend perspective and clarity to life’s journey; to nurture a grateful spirit.

So as I prepare to take my annual Thanksgiving Day walk along North Carolina’s amazing Crystal Coast, let me say thank you to our past, present, and future clients. Beaufort Photography Co. is exceedingly grateful to you and to God for allowing us to do what we love to do in telling your story in photographs…your stamp in time.

And if you’ve recently shared those two most life-changing little words, “I do,” we would consider it an honor to celebrate your special day with you this coming year. Again, thank you, and Happy Thanksgiving from Beaufort Photography Co.
